Ramanathan Narayanan (Ram) is CEO & Managing Director of 4R Recycling Private Limited, Bangalore a growing Precious Metal Extraction Company. 4R currently operates an R2 Certified e-Waste Recycling Facility comprising of dismantling, segregation, reprocessing and recycling situated at Peenya and now in the process of establishing a Plant for Metal Extraction/Refining from PCBs and other electrical/e-Waste.

Over the past 9 years, Ram has been instrumental in driving strategy, growth and exploring opportunities to bring new technologies and processes to the fast-growing problem of e-Waste generation in India. As a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher, 4R Recycling provides low cost refurbished Desktops/Laptops with Microsoft OS Licenses to registered schools, colleges, and charitable institutions.

Prior to co-founding 4R Recycling, Ram was Sr. Vice President – Supply Chain at Tejas Networks responsible for manufacturing operations. A key member of the Senior Management Team, he had been associated with Tejas Networks since 2000 as part of its initial team. As Head of Supply Chain, he was responsible for sourcing, manufacturing, and delivery of Tejas Products by building a strong and efficient supply chain organization involving in-house sourcing, planning, program management, logistics, and compliance teams and working with Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) Companies to deliver cost-competitive products to Tejas customers. Prior to moving over to Supply Chain, he was Chief Financial Officer of Tejas Networks till 2007. Holding multiple roles since inception of Tejas, he had contributed significantly to the phenomenal growth of Tejas. His experience of over 27 years includes handling Finance and Accounts, Operations, Infrastructure, Legal and Secretarial matters, Risk Management and Supply Chain. Prior to Tejas, he had worked in various organizations like Synopsys, Viewlogic Systems and Recon Ltd in various managerial capacities.

A waste management enthusiast by choice, Ram is keen on providing Zero Waste solutions to campuses in collaboration with associates, across all waste streams that could get generated in an enterprise.

Ram is associated with the Hubballi-based Deshpande Foundation, a sandbox creating an eco-system of innovators to address social challenges and sustainable social entrepreneurship in India and Deshpande Skilling, a skilling organisation transforming lives of rural youth. He is on the Board of Deshpande Startups, a Section 8 Company focussed on building innovative start-ups. He also mentors start-ups and helps incubate them. He is a Member of Lions Club of Bangalore Achintya and a Trustee of Lions District 317F Service Foundation.
